Promises West Los Angeles

The Promises West Los Angeles facility is designed for clients who would like the highest quality drug rehab, alcoholism or addiction treatment in a more affordable setting. The West Los Angeles program also offers a unique and highly cost-effective 90-day treatment plan.

After the 30-day residential treatment program, clients have the opportunity to move into a Promises sober living house to continue treatment on an outpatient basis at no extra cost. In our extended-care program, clients participate in the day program for 3 weeks, then for the final 5 weeks they continue as Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) clients. This extension is complimentary - you pay only for the 30-day residential program and then can move into the sober living house and participate in outpatient treatment at no added cost. This gifted portion of treatment makes Promises West Los Angeles a highly affordable 90-day treatment program for those who feel they need this added time to develop a stronger foundation for recovery.

The main campus for the 30-day residential program is halfway between Beverly Hills and the Pacific Ocean, and near UCLA and other Los Angeles landmarks. Promises West L.A. is a tranquil oasis in a home-like setting where clients stay in one of two houses. Clients begin treatment in cottages where the focus is on stabilization. After 1-2 weeks, clients graduate to the “Craftsman,” a stately home across the street from the cottages.

Both the cottages and the Craftsman have warmly decorated rooms and expansive common areas to provide a family-like environment designed to help foster life-long recovery.

Although the Los Angeles facility is not secluded, privacy is still highly valued. All visitors are required to sign in at the office, and clients are checked on every 15 minutes. Although the Malibu, CA facility offers the most luxurious accommodations and the highest quality in addiction treatment, be assured, the Los Angeles, CA facility is Promises’ starting point, the original location of our world-class treatment program, and it continues to be one of the most desired locations for drug rehab or addiction treatment any where in the world.

Recovery in an urban setting affords clients numerous opportunities to integrate "real world" experiences into treatment, such as outings to the gym, movies and other daily activities. Promises West Los Angeles offers various treatment times of stay with a variety of Continuing Care programs for ongoing support after inpatient treatment.

West Los Angeles Treatment Program Schedule

Week 1:
Detox and stabilization; assessment by psychiatrist and physician; begin therapeutic program

Week 2:
Individual and group therapy; sober activities; process groups; meditation; daily exercise; family therapy; move to the Craftsman house

Weeks 3-4:
Continue intensive therapy (group and individual) and develop a plan for the next steps in recovery. Many clients choose to move on to sober living at this point.

Weeks 5-9:
Move to nearby sober living house and begin Day Treatment; start integrating what you learned in primary, residential treatment into daily life as you live among your peers in sober living.

Weeks 10-12:
Continue living in sober living houses and move to IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), a less intensive outpatient program; some clients who live locally take college classes or get a part-time job. The goal is to begin living your life while still in a strongly supportive, structure home environment. Many clients avail themselves of the Life Coach at IOP to develop a plan for the upcoming months.
